Windows 2000 Dialup Setup


Step1:
Click Start
and open your Control Panel. Double click on Network and Dial-up Connections.



Step 2:
Once in the Network and Dial-up Connections folder, double-click on Make New Connection. This process will start the Network Connection Wizard. If this is your first time setting up a connection, Windows 2000 will prompt your for your Location Information. Please fill out this section accurately for your area code. Click OK when finished.

Note: If you want to disable call waiting enter *70 in the "number to access an outside line" field.



Step 3:
Next, you will need to accept the new configuration information by clicking OK in the Phone And Modem Options.



Step 4:
The Network Connection Wizard will guide you through the process of creating a connection. Click Next > to start the configuration.



Step 5:
Next, select bubble 2, Dial-up to the Internet. Click Next >.



Step 6:
Next, select bubble 3, I want to setup my Internet connection manually. Click Next >.




Step 7:
Next, select bubble 1, I connect through a phone line and a modem. Click Next >.



Step 8:
Next, you will be required to enter a phone number. To find a list of phone numbers in your area, click here and choose a phone number that is a local call for your line. Click Next >.

Note: Make sure Use area code and dialing rules is not checked.



Step 9:
Your username and password must be entered exactly how they were given to you. Once you have completed this section, click Next.



Step 9:
Enter Oplink.net under Connection name:. Click Next to continue.



Step 10:
Your computer is now ready to connect to the Internet. All setting should be configured properly by Windows 2000 automatically. If you would like to setup your mail account using Outlook Express select Yes, otherwise select No. Click Next > to continue. If you clicked Yes to set up Outlook Express, please click here to setup your email account.. Otherwise click Finish.
