Windows 2000 Dynamic and Static IP Setup

Step 1:

• Click on your Start Menu and open the Control Panel.

Step 2:

•  Click Network and Internet Connections.

Step 3:

• Click Network Connections.

Step 4:

• Right click on Local Area Connection.
• Click Properties.

Step 5:

• Uncheck File and Printer Sharing and Microsoft Neworks and QoS Packet Scheduler. (Optional)
• Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
• Check Show Icon in notification area when connected.

Step 5:

Standard DSL package and Standard PLUS accounts:

• If you have an Standard DSL package leave this to Obtain an IP address automatically.
• If you have an Standard DSL package leave this to Obtain DNS server address automatically.
• Click OK when finished, goto Step 6.

All other DSL accounts:

• Move the bubble to Use the following IP address and enter yoour assigned IP address's.
• Move the bubble to Use the following DNS server addresses.
• Enter 216.90.3.139 for Preferred and 216.90.3.140 for Alternate.

Step 6:

• Click OK.
