How to Publish your Homepage

Once you have your personal homepage developed you need to transfer the appropriate files and directories to our FTP server via an FTP application. We recommend using WS_FTP LE/Home. Click here to download it now. You can pick any FTP client, the choice is yours!

After you download the application, please install it. Once you have WS_FTP installed run the application. The first thing you will see is "Session Properties". Please fill this out with information we provided to you in your account information email. If you did not get a copy of this or do not have a userID/password please contact us.

After this information is complete make sure you check "save pwd". This will save your password for the next time you decide to make changes to your website. Then click Apply and then OK to save all settings. If it doesn't connect please click connect. Connect will be where the close button is. You will now see a window that looks like this:

Double Click on the "web" folder on the Remote Site part of the window. This will open your web folder. This is where you want to upload all of your website files. The file you want to load first needs to be named index.html or index.htm. This is the file people will first see when you type your URL (ie. http://username.oplink.net in their browser. Once you have your web folder open please locate the files on your computer that you want to upload to our FTP server. This is what the Local System part of the screen is for. You will use this side to find the files on your computer. First double click the green up arrow. This will take you to the WS_FTP folder and to the C:\Program Files folder. You will want to double click the green arrow again to take you just to C:\. Now you need to locate your web files on your computer. Once you have located those files simply highlight all the files and directories and click the arrow in the middle pointing towards the Remote Site side. A window will pop up asking "do you want to transfer the files" say yes. This will upload the files. Upload times may vary depending how large the files you are uploading.

You should now see a window that looks like this:

You can now click Exit. Open a web browser and goto your website: http://username.oplink.net.
